Discovery timeout

Is there any way that I can change the timeout value when discoverying devices?

The problem is that I have a very slow connection to a few servers and before they are discovered I get a timeout resulting in that SIM tells me that the servers are down!

options > protocol settings > global protocol settings allows defaults to be changed for various protocols.

So does changing the timeout in the Hardware Polling scheduled task not make any difference?
