Error on Page (SIM 4.2 SP1)

All of our email notifications have been lost. When I go to check on the tasks the settings that used to show hardware status to critical now show asset number. I assume the tasks have been reset some how because asset number is the first choice under the select systems. I'm trying to change it back to hardware status is critical but when I hit next to continue it says error on page in the lower left corner, any ideas?
