Error Performance Status on ESX

Hi,

I have 2 ESX server monitoring by PMM.
On one no problem (Monitoring OK on host and guest)
But on the other one, since 2 days (it works fine before), the "Performance Status" link refer to a "MPP : Error Performance Status" page.

I follow the instruction : restart vmm agent, snmp agent. In the configuration page, i see my ESX : montitoring started ...

If you create a file pmplog.txt in the PMP installation directory you can see what errors are being generated.

I've also found I frequently need to stop / start PMP for selected servers from the configuration screen. The true status doesn't always seem to be represented there.

The pmplog.txt report :
SrvESX - Entering DoWork
2008-03-26 09:49:21: SrvESX - LoadConfig - VM load failed
2008-03-26 09:49:21: SrvESX - Reschedule in 60 seconds
2008-03-26 09:49:21: SrvESX - Critical Error
2008-03-26 09:49:25: There is no Authorized WMI user for the system: xx.xx.xx.xx

But Nothing have change in the conf of my ESX.

In the Options - PMP Options - Configuration, where do you restart PMP ?

Log file indicates that VM configuration reading fails. First verify whether VMM service is running. And then verify the VM's status by using VMM icon corresponding to that server.

You can stop/start monitoring of that server using Monitoring Administration page (Options -> PMP Options).

PMP service (HP Performance Management Pack) can be managed using service manager console.

Hi,

VMM service is running on my ESX (service hpvmmcntsvc restart)
The communication between VM and ESX is OK - all is green

I have restart my PMP service and uncheck then rcheck again Monitoring in PMP Admin page

Now it's OK, i can have online analysis

Just restart the PMP services in HPSIM
