Hy,
We are starting a new project, to use VSE. I have started installing HP-SIM on whats going to be the managment server, and I am getting a problem when installing HP-SIM:
I launch:
# /opt/mx/bin/mxinitconfig -l
every prerequisite is ok
then:
# /opt/mx/bin/mxinitconfig -a
Configuration failed to complete due to the following exception:
A valid MAC address is not configured in HP Systems Insight Manager, this is needed to create a valid unique identifier (GUID).
The mx log:

Solution
We had the same problem. I think the software did not detect the MAC address correctly ( or used another/virtual NIC to determine MAC Address).
To solve, we editted the file mx.properties. This file is in the mxserver directory. Set MAC address according to what ifconfig displays as MAC address.
