External Storage alerting
Hi,
I'm testing External Storage alerting with HP SIM and I'm wondering why Fibre Channel HBA alerts don't get recorded in the integrated management logs for the agent? Also I've noticed there are no alerts for a hot swappable drive that is part of the external storage MSA1000 system. Only external drives that are part of an array generate alerts that are logged in the Integrated management log. I may be missing something here but this is what I've found. Anybody has experience with external storage events and HP SIM?
Thanks,
Ana

Re: External Storage alerting
What is the external storage?
When we had an MSA1000 it was viewed in HPSIM like a local array controller. Certainly if a disk died we got error notifications.
I can no longer check specifics as the MSA1000 was replaced and we now have an EMA12000 and EVA300. Both of which send alerts to HPSIM. I'm not sure if they end up in the IML though.
