Faulting application cqmghost.exe Version 8.0.0.0

Hello, after Upgrade to the new Proliant support pack 8.00A i've got an error:

Faulting application cqmghost.exe, version 8.0.0.0, faulting module cpqperf.dll, version 8.0.0.0, fault address 0x00000000000042d3.

Reporting queued error: faulting application cqmghost.exe, version 8.0.0.0, faulting module cpqperf.dll, version 8.0.0.0, fault address 0x00000000000042d3.

This happens on both 32 and 64 bit systems.
We are using MS Server 2003 R2 with SP2 (32 bit and Enterpreise x64 Edition)

Does anyone has this problem, too ?

We have the same problem on two ML350 G5 installed with W2k3 R2 64Bit. Is there any workaround or do we have to wait for a new PSP?

The fact that anyone has to revert agents is pathetic in and of itself, given the number of revisions this software has been through. We all should expect better quality control from HP.

Re: Faulting application cqmghost.exe Version 8.0.0.0

I'm seeing what appear's to be the same issue on every server I've installed this on.

The only difference being that all the servers I have experiencing the problem are running Windows Server 2008 Enterprise x64 or Data Center x64. Given HP-SIM 8.0A is the first version that's supporte on W2K8, I can't really go backwards.

Faulting application cqmghost.exe, version 8.0.0.0, time stamp 0x47962e59, faulting module CPQPERF.dll, version 8.0.0.0, time stamp 0x47962e5b, exception code 0xc0000409, fault offset 0x0000000000003c06, process id 0x117c, application start time 0x01c891702c686c84.

Re: Faulting application cqmghost.exe Version 8.0.0.0

I am having the same type of problems. I am also unable to start applications. MMC will not start. Icons suddenly change to black. Windows borders change colors or are empty. Remote desktop into the server will not work correctly. I tried to roll back to the previous version of PSS but it fails.

What can I do next?

I have reverted back to V7.91 and then to V7.60 and my problem still persists. Any other ideas?

Re: Faulting application cqmghost.exe Version 8.0.0.0

Upgrading from 7.91 to 8.0 VCA would not recoginze the update, will not uninstall. VCA appears in the add/remove programs but errors on removal with:
A network error occured while attempting read from the file C:\windows\installer\vcagent.msi
then:
Fatal error during installation

I have reinstalled, deleted all agents, reg hacked, and del c:\HP, reinstalled 7.91 without any success of getting VCA to recognize the agent. Also see:

Same problem here. Fresh install of Windows Server 2003 R2 x64 Enterprise SP2 on HP Proliant BL460c.

Will try reverting to 7.91 as suggested here to see if problem persists.

Re: Faulting application cqmghost.exe Version 8.0.0.0

So, after I could not roll back to V7.91 I was forced to run the repair function from the Win23K install disk. After booting up and repairing some of my broken MMC links I was able to roll back to V7.91. V8.0 must have broken part of my kernel and or registry. Now I am fully running on V7.91 all of my applications are fully functional.

Re: Faulting application cqmghost.exe Version 8.0.0.0

After reviewing our managed servers I also found that 3 of them are also experiencing the same issue. Windows 2003 Server Standard 32-bit.

Faulting application cqmghost.exe, version 8.0.0.0, faulting module cpqperf.dll, version 8.0.0.0, fault address 0x000035bc.

Reporting queued error: faulting application cqmghost.exe, version 8.0.0.0, faulting module cpqperf.dll, version 8.0.0.0, fault address 0x000035bc.

I havent decided what to do just yet to resolve it.

Re: Faulting application cqmghost.exe Version 8.0.0.0

I am getting this to, narrowed it down to file: cp008045.exe HP Insight Management Agents for Windows Server 2003/2008 x64 Editions version 8.0

I tried the previous version, 7.95 and did not appear to experience this issue. I tried both uninstalling the Insight Mangement Agent software first then installing AND I've tried upgrading on top of 7.95 and have the same results. I have a case open with HP right now.

Re: Faulting application cqmghost.exe Version 8.0.0.0

I tried to go back from 8.0 to 7.91. In principal, it works, but i did it in that way:

- deinstall all components from 8.0
- run e Repairinstallation of Windows
- install the old version 7.91

This works fine.

Re: Faulting application cqmghost.exe Version 8.0.0.0

Too much work for me.. I just reimage from our base image using Rapid Deployment. My base image includes all 8.0 updates except the Insight Management Agents (which is 7.91)

Re: Faulting application cqmghost.exe Version 8.0.0.0

Well the problem appears to be more widespread than I had originally thought. For testing, I uninstalled the Version Control Agent and also the Insight Management Agent and downgraded them both to version 7.91. So ill give it a day or two and see how stable the servers will be. For now the 2 servers seem to be working normally without the errors appearing in the Event Log.

Re: Faulting application cqmghost.exe Version 8.0.0.0

This isn't a result of Version Control Agent 8.0 because I'm running it on all my servers and haven't gotten those errors, its just the Insight Management Agent 8.0.

I got a response back from HP regarding my open case and they said they were able to replicate this in their lab and they are working on a fix.

Re: Faulting application cqmghost.exe Version 8.0.0.0

Hi,
I have the exact same problem.

What I can say is :
I have installed a new ML350G5 with WS2003 R2 Standard in our office in Thailand last week and I'm installing the exact same server in Jakarta at the moment.
The first server was installed directly with the 8.00 SmartStart CD and I have the problem on it.
On the one I'm installing now, I had to use 7.90 SmartStart CD because I left the 8.00 in Thailand.... And I have upgraded the SSD from 7.90 to 8.00....... And I don't have the problem on this server here...
I'm going to check the differences between them both and will let you know if I can find what the problem is.
See you

Re: Faulting application cqmghost.exe Version 8.0.0.0

HP posted Insight Management Agents 8.1 recently. That seems to have fixed it for me.

Re: Faulting application cqmghost.exe Version 8.0.0.0

Sorry... spoke too soon. 8.1 didn't help after all.

However:

1. Uninstall HP Insight Management Agents 8.0
2. Reboot
3. Install HP Insight Management Agents 7.91
4. Reboot

...seems to have done the trick.

Re: Faulting application cqmghost.exe Version 8.0.0.0

Not surprising, In the revision history it doesn't mention this issue being fixed. Thanks for the notification though. I'm still being told by HP that they're working on it.
