firmware updates possible for integrity servers?

I briefly glanced through the SIM 4.2 manual, and I believe it said that firmware updates are only possible for proliant servers running VCS, but that SD is integrated into SIM for HP-UX systems. Because firmware for some hardware, such as system firmware for integrity servers or disk drive firmware cannot be installed via an SD depot, does this mean that SIM can't be used to update firmware on such hardware?
