Getting error while discovering servers in HP SIM
Hello Guys,
I am getting error while discovering servers in HP SIM:
The discovered blade is not in an enclosure. For c-Class
enclosures, verify that the supported OA firmware version is
installed and verify that the OA has been discovered in HP SIM. For
p-Class enclosures, verify that the iLO firmware and the HP Insight
Management Agents on the server are installed and verify that the
iLO has been discovered in HP SIM.
I am getting the same error on many systems.
Kindly assist.

Re: Getting error while discovering servers in HP SIM
Hello,
do you have the enclosure discovered where the servers are located in. If the server is discovered before the enclosure you would get into this kind of problems.

Re: Getting error while discovering servers in HP SIM
Hello agsin,
You need to know the onboard administrator dns name or IP adress. If you don't know the dns name or ip log on to the ILOto find this info. You don't need credentials to discover the Enclosure. If you need more specifics let me know.

Re: Getting error while discovering servers in HP SIM
I know the IP address of the ILO but it doesn't have any DNS record. I simply access ILO from IP address.
One more thing I am not able to ping or access ILO IP from HP SIM server.
Thanks

Re: Getting error while discovering servers in HP SIM
So that is your problem, your ILO and Onboard Admin are a isolated lan?
Is there an option to configure an interface on you SIM server to connect to this VLAN/LAN?
Otherwise you miss this information.

Re: Getting error while discovering servers in HP SIM
ok, you mean to say is I need to configure one another network adapter, which needs to configure with the range of ILo IP. As ILO ip range and domain network IP ranges are different?

Re: Getting error while discovering servers in HP SIM
So you can access the ilo on port 80 but ping is disabled?
You can also set port 80 as a ping port in your settings if ICMP ping is disabled.
The ILO and Onboard admin are on the same network, if you discover your Onboard Admin the ILO's get discovered automaticly.
