Hardware spec question
Hi,
The hardware spec for HP SIM shows a spec of:
Hardware and Software Minimum Requirements
System Memory Linux and Windows - 768MB (1GB recommended)
Processor Minimum single CPU 1.5Hz (2.4 GHz or greater recommended)
Disk Space 300MB (2GB recommended if VCRM on same system)
But if I had a machine of this spec:
1280M RAM
Dual 800 or 866Mhz CPU's
quite a few Gb HDD
Would it run HP SIM okay? I am worried that the CPU spec is well lower than HP's minimum or recommended, but it is a dual CPU, so this might be okay???
any ideas?

Re: Hardware spec question
Hai Gary,
I tried it indofferent machines now. Now it is running on a single CPU machine with 3.2 GHz and 3GB memory. Before this it ran on a 2 GB and 1.4 GHz machine. Absolutely there is difference. I had to wait much longer on the 1.4 Ghz machine.
I think HPSIM will work fine on your dual system, but you will have to have more patience than I have.
I would have depend it on how many machines do you want to manage with it? Our site is more than 100 manageable servers. If mine was 20 then I would take a lesser machine.
And how often are you going to check? All questions for you to take into consideration.
Grtz, Rijn
