How do you Create the Custom Tools

Hello,

I am looking to find documenation on creating tools so that they appear on my tool bar. Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: How do you Create the Custom Tools

The TDEF (tool definition files) are explained in the help file. We have the help file online too. I would start here:

http://h18013.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/hpsim/info-library/mxtool.4.html

The Information Library off http://www.hp.com/go/hpsim/ has all the man pages listed individually if you want to peruse that way.

We are looking into supplying a type of stand alone tool to potentially help in the generation of custom tools into HPSIM.

Hope this helps for the short term!

Re: How do you Create the Custom Tools

Check out check out the Open Source tool called addtools.xml at http://www.software.hp.com/scmgr/scmtools.html#mgmt which can be used in SCM and HP SIM to provide access to creating and removing tools.

Re: How do you Create the Custom Tools

I've been looking around the forums and can't find anything that explains how to write a custom tool that will take the details of a trigger event and feed them to an external shell or perl script.

Any idea what's become of "addtools.xml at http://www.software.hp.com/scmgr/scmtools.html#mgmt ?"
