How to Modify SIM Component Install Timeout < 15 minutes
How do you configure SIM’s component installation Timeout to be less then 15 minutes ?
I have some servers that install PSP v7.1 in 10 minutes and some take over 2 hours, as it repeatedly keeps pausing for the 15 minute timeout period on components that it can’t install
Cos

Re: How to Modify SIM Component Install Timeout < 15 minutes
Can you be more specific? Are you using the Version Control Agents or is this the Initial PSP install?

Re: How to Modify SIM Component Install Timeout < 15 minutes
Hi,
I'm having a similar problem.
Have HP SIM 4.2 SP2 on a DL380 G3 with Windows Server 2003 Std.
When i send PSP 7.30 with "Install Software and Firmware...", to 10 machines, in my case on 7 out of 10 the "HP System Management Homepage for Windows " component failed with "Component Install Timeout".
Then because VCA Agent and "Online Insight Diagnostics" are dependent of SMH, they also fail.
What can I do?Should I put less servers on the task?
Thank you very much
Alfredo Soares

Re: How to Modify SIM Component Install Timeout < 15 minutes
Please be aware that I believe this to be a known issue that we are working. We should have a fix out in a couple of weeks (hopefully much sooner.) Please watch the HPSIM page (www.hp.com/go/hpsim) for updates.
Dude, we've been totally misled by our album covers!
