HP Management Agent Issues.......?????
I have upgraded from CIM 7 to HP SIM 4.1, previously I had set up the Management agents on all servers as 'Trust by Name', then setup up the name as:-
[ServerName], [IP Address]
This was done because we manage servers within DMZ's without a DNS infrastructure....
Since the upgrade the Agents are now 'Not Trusted'
I have run the 'Software Status' task several times, but to no avail.
If I modify the agents to the FQDN rather than the servername/ipaddress alone, it works.
Do I have to manually change each servers Agents, or is there a better way of doing it?
I would like to still use servername/Ipaddress if possible as we do not currently have a good DNS infrastructure in place, and I don't want to manage host files on ALL DMZ servers.

Re: HP Management Agent Issues.......?????
You can canfigure the Server Agents before distribution.
Run the Support Pack on the VC Repository. You will find a red exclamation sign in the configurable items folder. Make all the changes to the Web Agent (Incuding server certificate and Trust Relationship).
After the changes, make a software/firmware deployment to the target servers sending only the Web Agents.

Re: HP Management Agent Issues.......?????
An alternate way here is to simply update the C:\COMPAQ\WBEM\HOMEPAGE\CPQHMMDX.INI file and copy it out to all servers and then restart the HP Web Agent, which is less intrusive than a complete reinstall, and can be done via batchfile.

Re: HP Management Agent Issues.......?????
Is there any way of modifying the central CMS rather than having to modify ALL clients?
