HP SIM 7 discovery incorrectly reporting servers
All,
I am trying to properly install HP SIM 7 in a small environment (8 servers) and am having an issue with discovery. Two of the eight servers are reporting back to the CMS but the other 5 do not. The symptom is that the servers are showing up twice in the the all systems panel. Once with host name and IP address displaying as an unmanged device and once with the servers serial number and server type displayed but reporting as monitoring disabled. I have tried enabling monitoring on one of the entries and SIM reports that monitoring is permanently disabled. All the servers are HP Proliants running windows 2003 R2. They are a mixture of DL380 g4 and DL365 g5 servers. I have installed the latest PSP on all the servers and applied the hotfix for SIM 7. I am attempting to use WBEM only and have SNMP disabled in the CMS options. The service is still installed and running. All the servers are connected to the same network switch. Has anyone run across this issue or have any insight into what possibly could be causing these servers to not report correctly?
Thanks

Re: HP SIM 7 discovery incorrectly reporting servers
I would do an integrity check on the database,
take a look at mxconfigrepo

Re: HP SIM 7 discovery incorrectly reporting servers
I meant what do you actually have to do on the vm itself to allow wbem subscriptions.
I don't / cannot add a local account for this.

Re: HP SIM 7 discovery incorrectly reporting servers
Trying to identify windows virtual machine guests.
The physicals are all set
Esxi is all set
Even rhel is all set
but when I try to identfy these windows guests, I get unknown / unidentified.
I just need to know how to configure the guests so that they can be correctly identified w/o having to acutally login to them.
