HP SIM Discovery Problems
I am having a problem discovering any systems in HP SIM, either by Automatic or Manual Discovery.
The discovery routine runs to completion but nothing is added to the All systems lists, if I check the Insight Manager Audit Log it shows that the pings were successful but there are no ADD statements.
I have found that if I stop and Start SQL then I can run a Discovery OK but I can only run one and then I have to Stop and Start SQL again.
I am running HP SIM 4.2 with latest service pack and MSDE 2000 locally on the SIM server which is running Windows 2000 Server SP4.
Can anybody help ?

Re: HP SIM Discovery Problems
Please check if you have enabled the discovery filters...and of cousre, are you able to ping to the other systems from the CMS? I hope there is no ICMP blocking done in your network.

Re: HP SIM Discovery Problems
I am currently running the Discovery without filters and we have no restrictions to stop ICMP requests.
Here's a sample of the log:-
When it works properly you normally see and ADD statement.
