HP SIM Event Polling
Does any one know how the event polling works in HPSIM. Do the Insight Agents on the systems send an SNMP trap for all the events, or is the HPSIM console polling the system agetns for events. For some reason we are receiving numerious hardware events in the console for what seems to be the same issue. Right now we are receiving "Power Redundancy Lost" events twice every 15 minutes. Were should I look?

Re: HP SIM Event Polling
The answer is both. However, a polling task only results in an event (assuming that turning polls into events is enabled) that indicates a device status change, not the actual issue. That only gets transported to the hpSIM console with a trap.
When an Insight agent sends a trap, it also writes to the event log, so you should have an event log entry for every trap you receive that you should be able to correlate (loosely apply time to that; the event log timestamps based on when it happens on the server, the hpSIM event is timestamped when the event is received).

Re: HP SIM Event Polling
As to where to look, the Event will indicate which Server sent the Alerts.
Try looking at the Server. IM will just be reporting what it gets in this case.
