HP SIM - Network Management Up Time, anywhere in database
On HP Proliant computers running HP Insight agents, version 7.x and above, on the
System Management Homepage on home -> system config ->system info
There is this useful information field
Network Management Up Time
in the description area.
I cannot find this in any database tables for HP SIM 5.0 sp # 5 version: C.05.00.02.00
Build date: 2006-05-23 11:07
using References: HP Systems Insight Manager Technical Reference Guide, HP part # 356920-007, November 2005, Edition 4.0 (for HP SIM 5.0), Reference Information, Database Tables, starting at page 645
As listed at
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1091862
this is my computer & HP SIM version information.
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 - 8.00.2039 (Intel X86) Standard Edition on Windows NT 5.2 (Build 3790: Service Pack 1; Operating system: Windows 2003 Version: Systems Insight Manager 5.0 with SP5 - Windows Build version: C.05.00.02.00
Build date: 2006-05-23 11:07
Is this added to HP SIM 5.1 databases? Or will this ever be added?
Why? System uptime reports for Windows computers as listed at
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1124902
End

Re: HP SIM - Network Management Up Time, anywhere in database
The problem with the Uptime reporting would be it's accuracy.
You log on and access the agent and pick up the current time. But the data collection tasks for HPSIM only run as scheduled. That might be daily but it could be a longer period.
Given this it restriction it would still be a useful item to have.
