HP SIM SMTP error
we have HP SIM 6.1 Build:C.06.01.00.00 installed on a Windows Server 2008 R2 system. This is a fresh install of the HP SIM software and everything works fine. Except for the Email Notification.
In the email setting menu we have configured our email server for SMTP host. When hitting "Send test email now" we get the following error: The email could not be sent: Authentication error.
The SMTP server is configured properly and can be used to relay mail from the HP SIM host. Sending email via telnet works properly.
Anyone had the same problem? This looks like a bug to me.

Yes you should find other entries in this forum about it. If you select authorization and you enter your SIM login it works for us.
It seems only to be a problem for the test button not really for the event automation.
I also had success messages with fantasy logins.

Thanks for your reply.Yes, it's just "test send email" button issue, I am getting email for any real incidents.
Tried to use HP SIM credential for SMTP authentication, doesn't work for me.
