HP Systems Insight Manager
I've just installed HPSIM on a HP DL380G3 with W2K SP4 and a local testinstance of MS SQL 2000 Enterprise Edition.
The Webagents of the CMS are configured to trust by name (FQDN).
By starting HPSIM the first time by clicking on the desktop icon of HPSIM the browser opens up and I've to accept the security message, then I have to install the JRE delivered by HPSIM.
Problem:
After the installation of the JRE I try to open the HPSIM by using the same procedure but the browser tells me all the times that the JRE is not installed ! But it is installed !
If I try to open the same page by using a XP client it works.
If I try to open the same page by using the CMS and the URL instead of the shortcut on the desktop of the CMS it is not working and I get the same message. (Either http nor https)
Does anyone know a solution for this behaviour ?
Thanks folks

Re: HP Systems Insight Manager
Go to Control Panel and in each Java applet (prior to 1.4 they were individual; they are unified in 1.4) and under 'Browser' make sure you un-check 'Internet Explorer' and 'Netscape.' This should have the effect of letting the browser load the version requested by hpSIM rather than the one bound to the browser.

Re: HP Systems Insight Manager
thanks for your replies !
Only one version of JRE is installed and this is the version of HPSIM.
I've rebooted the system several times already... :-)

Re: HP Systems Insight Manager
I tried this out but it makes no difference.

Re: HP Systems Insight Manager
I'd start by going to Control Panel, firing up the JRE and Clearing the Cache. This gets rid of any files that a reboot will not touch.
If that doesn't work, try deleting the entire JRE from the Add/Remove Programs. You might want to download the latest (I'm running 1.4.2_04 quite happily) and install that.
I think you can select an Advanced Install option, do not check the box that sets the JRE in the browser. You can check this by going to the Advanced button, if there's a Use Java v2... box and it's checked then uncheck it. This allows the application to select the JRE it requires rather than the browser dictating which JRE to use. This allows you to run multiple JRE's if required.

Re: HP Systems Insight Manager
long time away but now I am back in town...
I have installed the whole HPSIM on a new system and now it works. Funny thing because it was the same model whit the same components and SW installed on it.
Anyway it is fixed now in some strange way.
Thanks for your support, folks.
