IBM servers
I am NOT using IBM Director for IBM servers.
But I want to add IBM servers (Wintel) to my HPSIM 4.2 servers (WIN2K). One objective is for collection of inventory and the other if possible for hardware monitoring. I understand I need this MIBS (Management Information Base Support).
I found the attached doc from IBM website but find no clue how to configure it.
Would appreciate if somebody can give insight.
Question : Does HP support this MIBS. Is this certified ?

Re: IBM servers
I see there's no replies so I'll have a stab at this.
MIB's are typically used to decode SNMP Traps from devices and provide information to HPSIM. So you don't just get unregistered traps. Additional MIB's for specific devices can be loaded into HPSIM via the mxmib/mxcompile utilities.
There are some MIBs loaded into HPSIM (I think) that would assist in basic SNMP identification.
Data collection for HP Servers is either done via the HP Management Agents or via WBEM. You might get some additional data by configuring and using WBEM.
I don't think you'll get much from SNMP.

Re: IBM servers
See HP SIM Help on MIB; I have compiled and registered MIBs for Dell servers. I include the IP range for my Dell server in Discovery so I see all my Dell and HP servers and get SNMP traps. I have not been able to use any agents on the Dell servers though.
