Implementing IPM

I've been doing some reading on implementing Insight Power Manager but still looking for one specific answer.

Do I need iLo physically connected to pull the power information from a box? OR is there a way to pull it through an agent in Windows. The problem I have is I have a data center that has very limited network resources (physical, IPs, and staff) and not able to connect iLo to every box.

iLO is the source of the information, not the host. Check out Shared Network Port feature of iLO. While it still will need a unique IP, you won't have to use a separate network port.

Re: Implementing IPM

Ya I know that iLo is the source but I was hoping that there was an agent that would run on top of windows that would relay the data.

I'm looking at the shared network for the iLo but I've been told we are very limited on ips that we have.

I see some of our boxes have a HP service call something like iLo passthough. Anyone know what that's for? I just saw it yesterday I'll be looking that up to see what that does.

Any other ideas would be great. Thanks
