Initial ProLiant Support Pack Install

Hi,

I get the folowing error:
EXCEPTION CLASS: com.sshtools.j2ssh.SshException
EXCEPTION: The SFTP Subsystem could not be initialized

OpenSSH is running with the right of the Administrator-Accoutn, which also was used to install HP SIM. Any ideas what this means?

If this is a Windows 2003 server did you configure the OpenSSH workaround as documented in the readme file?

Re: Initial ProLiant Support Pack Install

Yes, apart from the point the my administrative User is not called "administrator". Is it only working with he User "administrator"?

With mxagentconfig I get an error "Configuration failed due to the following execption: no such file". My administrative user has a profile directory, but there is no .ssh-folder.

Re: Initial ProLiant Support Pack Install

I was having the exact same problem. Using the procedure in the Readme however it worked. HP should improve a lot on this because it's extremely tricky to get it al working. I am using the Administrator account to run the OpenSSH Service. Could not get it working with the domain account I created for SIM to run under.
So I think Joel's reply should have received some more points! :)

Re: Initial ProLiant Support Pack Install

Ok, 10 point for the Administrator - perhaps you could share ;-)

Now I get a new error with mxagentconfig: "The SFTP subsystem could not be initialized". Any idea?

Re: Initial ProLiant Support Pack Install

Well, I have had the exact same problem, but I can't exactly remember what the specific solution was at this point in the procedure. I'm sory, but I can only say that following the exact procedure about OpenSSH on Win2K3 in the Readme worked for me.
(The complete procedure following the text "Windows 2003 does not allow the Local System account to have the privileges it
needs to run the Secure Shell (SSH) service." in the Readme.)

Re: Initial ProLiant Support Pack Install

I'm probably being dense - can someone please point me in the direction of the OpenSSH readme containing the win2003 workaround? Can't find anything in the docs that come with HP SIM install files.

Re: Initial ProLiant Support Pack Install

The SIM 4.1 readme can be viewed during the SIM installation.

It can also be found at

http://www.hp.com/go/hpsim -->Information Library --> Technical Documentation.

Re: Initial ProLiant Support Pack Install

Thanks. SSH login and PSP deployment now running! It was the lack of rights to create and replace tokens that was causing my SSH problems.
