Insight Agents
What are the minimum required Insight Agent files that need to be installed on a server? We have ~1,000 HP servers and need to get them reporting back to SIM. We are exploring our options as not to install the entire PSP due to the potential impact on the environment since they've been largely negelected in this area.

Security vulnerability which had the potential to allow Denial of Service (DoS) attacks through maliciously formatted HTTP Header information. These maliciously malformed HTTP requests will stop the management products, and for NetWare, abend the OS. Please note that for other Operating Systems (Windows, Linux, etc.) the Operating System will not be affected, and the main functionality of the targeted servers cannot be affected; only the HP Management Products can be halted.
Security vulnerability that had the potential to allow timing attacks to be performed on RSA keys, a vulnerability to which OpenSSL is generally vulnerable. The correction involves turning RSA blinding on. OpenSSL version 0.9.6j addresses this vulnerability and was incorporated to remedy this.
Security vulnerability to which OpenSSL is generally vulnerable. This vulnerability has the potential to allow a timing attack on OpenSSL that in effect allows an attacker, through creating millions of invalid SSL/TSL connections, to perform a single RSA private key operation on a ciphertext of its choice using the server's RSA key, without actually compromising the server's RSA key. OpenSSL version 0.9.6j addresses this vulnerability and was incorporated to remedy this.

On rare occasions, the Compaq SmartStartTM 4.90 Compaq Insight Management Agents may fail to load in Microsoft Windows 2000 or Microsoft Windows NT 4.0. This issue may occur during the SmartStart 4.90 installation of the Compaq Support Paq or anytime the Compaq Insight Management Agents are restarted. A pop-up window reports this issue by displaying the following:
"At least one service or driver failed during system startup - check Event Viewer"
The Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 or Microsoft Windows 2000 Event Log also reports the issue:
"Server Agents service hung on startup."
Without the Compaq Insight Management Agents, the Compaq Insight Manager console will report the server as "inaccessible", the Compaq Insight Manager XE device status is "unknown", and the Compaq Web Agent interface cannot be accessed from a browser. This issue promotes another symptom. When using Compaq SmartStart for Servers to configure Microsoft Windows 2000 server software, the SmartStart Assisted Path Installation process can take up to 30 minutes to complete, during which time the following message displays:
"Installing and configuring Compaq programs. Please wait."
Do not interrupt the installation process. The Microsoft Windows 2000 installation is successful after the 30-minute waiting period, but the Compaq Insight Management Agents must be updated. The resolution for this issue is available at http:/www.compaq.com/support/files/server/us/download/9197.html. version 4.90 (11 Oct 00) Added support for the following:

To no longer report Advanced Data Guarding as "Fully Functional" even if the firmware on the Compaq Smart Array 5300 Controller disabled it.
With IDE disk drives on Microsoft Windows 2000 where the drive condition was always "other", the drive details were incomplete, and the predictive failure was disabled. All IDE disk drive information is now reported correctly.
To correctly list the Drive Array Information Agent as Inactive instead of Active on a Compaq Server configured with a Compaq Smart Array 5300 Controller running Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0.

Issue involving the Drive Array Agent not being set to Active during a new install or upgrade of the Compaq Storage Agents on Windows NT 4.0 when the only drive array controller in the system was a Compaq Smart Array 5300 Controller.
Issue in which the Compaq Storage Agents for Windows Version 4.70 incorrectly reports the current status of StorageWorks RAID Array 4000 and 4100 storage enclosures after they are hot removed and subsequently re-added to the loop.
version 4.80 (21 Jun 00) Added support for the following:
Compaq RAID LC2 Controller with one LVDS SCSI channel configured as RAID.
Compaq Tape Array 1000 which contains ten hot plug AIT 50 tape drives.
Compaq SSL2020TL Tape Library which contains two AIT 50 tape drives.
Compaq Smart Array 5300 Controller with two or four Wide Ultra3 SCSI channels.
