Insight Management problems
when visiting https://server:2381 i get a drop box of selecting user, administrator, operator, none of which i can successfully login with. None of the logins mentioned i am aware of and don't know of the passwords.
I figured that if i re-install the management agent for servers (7.00.0.0) I could setup a new password.
However, there doesnt seem to be any option that allows me to change the password.
any ideas?

Re: Insight Management problems
The agents don't stand alone. They require drivers and utilities to work, so you should be using the ProLiant Support Pack. Within the PSP UI you can configure the passwords for these built-in accounts.
See http://www.hp.com/servers/manage --> Software Downloads (lower right near bottom of page) --> ProLiant --> Model/OS --> ProLiant Support Pack
There is also a link to the docs on that page.

Re: Insight Management problems
Ok,
so i have downloaded the proliant support pack and have run the deployment utility. From there i set a new password for the HP Insight Management Agent.
However, when i visit https://srv:2381 my login is rejected. Have i left something out ?
I have selected user: administrator, and entered the password i set.
If it helps, it displays login account: anonymous near the top left.
thanks in advance.

Re: Insight Management problems
It would appear that the password was already set when this software was installed previously. Unless you explicitely tell it to overwrite the previous settings the install will not do that. If I remember correctly there are two places you need to make sure this happens, in the preconfigure screen for the package where you set the password and other security options there was a check box saying to force the overwrite of these settings. Also, if you are reinstalling over the top of the same version of an agent the install does not occur unless you use the "force" option in the install. If the installer sees that the version installed is equal to or newer than the one you are trying to install it will not install unless you use the "force" option.
