Insight Manager 7 Login Problem

When I try to login to Insight Manager 7 using https://server:50000, I get an error message as follows (I have also attached a screen shot of the error):

Runtime error!

Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

This only happens on a Windows XP workstation (XP Professional SP1); on a Windows 2000 Professional (with SP4 installed) the login works fine. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling Java; ugrading to the latest JRE; uninstalling deleting all references to Java in the registry and Program Files then letting the application install JRE--nothing seems to help. Any ideas?

Re: Insight Manager 7 Login Problem

Sounds more like the install of IEXplorer is flakey. Any patches outstanding for it?

I only use W2000 Professional and like you, no problems with that.

FYI - The new HPSIM has a larger range of supported browsers.

Re: Insight Manager 7 Login Problem

Rob--thanx for your timely reply.

I am running the latest version with all patches and fixes I can find from Microsoft. I have this same problem on all XP boxes that I have tried. Microsoft was the ones that suggested the uninstall of JRE, and the deletion of folders in the Program Files section.

Bit of a puzzeler.

Re: Insight Manager 7 Login Problem

Just installed InSight Manager launch the Icon(https://localhost:50000/login.jsp) and all I get is:

Please wait. Checking for a Java Runtime Environment.

Also get the following in the event log:
The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( sshd ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: sshd : PID 1004 : Did not receive identification string from 167.81.3.42.

Any Clue?
