Insight Manager Install Issue

Hi,
I have just installed SIM on a Proliant DL 380 G1 os version W2k3. When I try to open up the insight manager it checks for the HTTP status but then just sits there with the numbers increasing.

I've tried custom and typical install but the same issue arises.
The server has been pathched with relevant Microsoft patches.

Any ideas.

Thanks in advance
Stephen

Re: Insight Manager Install Issue

If your Microsoft patches include MS04-025 (KB867801) then make sure you have applied the patch for HP SIM 4.0 or 4.1:

Hi David,
I have applied all the latest patches for SIM after I applied MS patches.

Re: Insight Manager Install Issue

Do you have an empty file named program in the root of your c or d drive? This is known to cause problems for the "HP Systems Insight Manager" service startup on Windows 2003. You should also check your Windows system event log to see if the SIM service is attempting to restart every 2 minutes.

Re: Insight Manager Install Issue

Hi Folks,
No there is no file of that type installed on the machine. The problem is that it just sits at the checking HTTP status and the figures just increase. I checkd the event log but it tells me that the SIM service has started. There is no mention of it trying to start every two minutes
