I am a SIM noob, but I will try to help you because I know this SIM stuff can be frustrating because the documentation is so convoluted.

The only thing I can think of is under Options -> Insight Power Manager Options

There you can enable the plug-in and then specify some parameters.s

For the licenses, go to the Deploy -> License Manager for adding and managing licenses.

Beyond this I cannot help. I hope this makes a difference for you.

Good luck.

Re: Insight Power Manager to HP SIM setup help needed

Hi George,

First is it RILO2 license or ILO2 Advance License. To enable this you need to have ILO2 Advance license enabled in ILO2. Then you need "Insight Power Manager" licenses in HP SIM to perform monitor capability working from HP SIM.

You can enable IPM plugin as mentioned above. Provide the all the parameters "ILO2 Credentails". To configure the system for IPM you can go through Configure>Configure Insight Power manager from HP SIM.

As simple as I can make it (I've been through the IPM pain myself)

1) Register your new servers + the ILO objects in SIM
2) Buy ILO Advanced Pack licences
3) Ensure your ILO 2 web pages are left on default port 80
4) Buy IPM licences from a vendor
5) As previously stated, enter licences in SIM (licence manager)
6) Go to Reports / Insight Power Manager and select the new G5 servers
7) Make sure you click the "refresh data" button if you see a blank graph
