Install Linux on a Windows Based Thin Client

We have a T5xxx series thin client that is based on Windows CE. We need to run X-windows on it. What is the best solution in this case:

Install an application on Windows CE?

or

Install Linux on the Thin Client? If yes, please tell how?!
