Integrating Procurve Manager into SIM
Does anyone know if it is possible to integrate HP Procurve Manager into HP SIM in the same way that Web JetAdmin does?
Is it is how is it done?
On the other hand how do i get HP SIM to act as a generic trap receiver for unknown/Procurve Manager/ Windows traps?
Cheers

Re: Integrating Procurve Manager into SIM
As far as I know, PCM cannot integrate with SIM -- I hear OpenView can, however.
SIM has ProCurve Mibs that it can detect and montior -- all I had to do was put in the subnets I wanted to discover.

Re: Integrating Procurve Manager into SIM
Hi
Thanks for this.
Do you know if there are any plans to enable SIM and PCM integration?
Also are the MIBs included by default - if not where can i get them from - also can i receive traps from the ProCurves using SIM?
Older than 4.2 versions i had problems with this but need to manage a lot of ProCurves over WANs on many Subnets.
Cheers

Re: Integrating Procurve Manager into SIM
ProCurve Manager is not a web application so there's no real integration. However, HP SIM can discover your switches and provide links to the HTML management pages the devices serve themselves. The MIBs are already provided--just tell your switches the trap destination. We don't expect this situation to change any time soon.
