Linux agent
Hi
Hi can any one can help on this issue. i have install HP SIM on to windows 2003 server and install hp_snmp_agent to the my other suse linux 10 sp 2 to other boxes.when i run the discovery it shows only the ip adress .it want show the server name.how can i configure hp_snmp_agent in suse.can anyone can help on this?

Search the forum, question has been asked before but mainly about VMware ESX Servers which have a Redhat console.
snmp config file should be similar.
essentially you need an ROCommunity name that allows the HP SIM Server access on the correct community name.

Have you got a DNS environment? Check that you have an A and PTR DNS records on DNS server that SIM and your linux servers use
