Looking for blackout tool
Is there an existing script or tool that would allow me to prevent any tasks from issuing alerts when a specific server is manually rebooted?
Thanks,
Steve
Thanks,
Steve

Re: Looking for blackout tool
No, but since we're getting closer and closer to release, I'll let slip that HP SIM 4.2 has added--based on customer requests including ones that have appeared on the forums--a new Suspend/Resume Monitoring feature. When you initiate it, you can say to suspend indefinitely (which means you will have to re-enable it manually) or for a time period (choices of 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 1 hour or 1 day) at the end of which polling will automatically resume. The status icon for the device is changed to reflect its disabled status until it is re-enabled.

Re: Looking for blackout tool
Thanks. That's very good news. When the suspend state is available in version 4.2 can it be initiated by a command in a script that is inducing the shutdown/reboot?
