We have a HP SIM5.x installation which we'd like to move on another server .
The DB is on a separate server running SQL SERVER.
Can I simply install SIM on the new server and have it to point to the old DB ?
Thanks

I don't know but there's a document at the following address that seems to cover moving HPSIM.
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/hpsim/infolibrary.html
Typically HPSIM creates a new database on installation, you may be able to go through that process and then drop the newly created database and attach the original using the name HPSIM has.
But I'd go through the document suggested first.

Re: MIgrating HP SIM
Hi,
If we really moved the old database over to the new server and have new SIM create a new database, afterwhich rename the old database to the one that SIM had created.
Question is, does older SIM (exp 4.2) have the same database tables as newer SIM (exp 5.1)??
Thanks and Regards.
