New installation hangs on checking for a java plug-in
I recently installed a fresh copy of HP Systems Insight Manager 4.1 on my server. The install itself seemed to go fine, but when I try to launch the program, I get a message "checking for a java plug-in" and it just hangs there forever. I configured the program to create a new database on a separate SQL 2000 server. One thing I did notice after the install is that I had forgotten to load the SNMP service. I installed the service and then re-ran the install for the HP Insight Agents. The web agents work fine now, but I still cannot get into my SIM install. I never even get a chance to log on. Of course, when i first launched the http://localhost:280, it said I needed to install the Java applett, so I let it do what it needed. Once the Java applett was installed, I attempted to start SIM again, but as I mentioned, it hangs on checking for a java plug-in. Any ideas? Let me know. Thanks.

Re: New installation hangs on checking for a java plug-in
There is a patch to prevent this.
The patch fixes what Microsoft locks when applying vulnerability patch (MS04-025)
Follow this link it might help you.

Re: New installation hangs on checking for a java plug-in
Thanks! I actually ended up downloading and installing version 4.2 since I happened to notice that others were using 4.2. I originally installed the version that was on the 7.10 Management CD. Now that I have installed version 4.2, it is working. Are there any patches that I should apply to version 4.2?
