No function on HP SIM 5.0 SP5
I´d like to use SIM on a W2003 Standard Server.
When i install the SIM on this Server and it is installed manually, SIM works properly.
Then, i join an AD-Domain, and the SIM does not
work anymore...it seems that there are some Policies.....
Does anyone know, if there are some special rights the serviceuser for SIM needs to work?
I think I have to modify the Policy in the gpedit.msc.....
Thanks in advance for any help.

What account is running the 'HP Systems Insight Manager' service on the server?

Re: No function on HP SIM 5.0 SP5
i´m running the local MSDE. Before joining the domain, everything worked fine.
After joining the Domain, the server starts without any service failures...
After logon (locally)i start "HP Systems Insight Manager" (the Desktop Icon) and the
"HP Systems Insight Manager Check Service"-Windos appears and counts up and up and nothing else happens.
When I try to connect from a remote Browser, i do not get any response from the server.

Re: No function on HP SIM 5.0 SP5
Is the HP systems insight manager service started ?
This service uses a local account (the one you used to install SIM) to start. Make sure this account has admin rights on your server.

Are there any logfiles from HPSIM which provide any information about failures or missing rights (policies)?

Re: No function on HP SIM 5.0 SP5
here is an update for my Thread:
When the Server is member of our AD, the
HP Systems Insight Manager Server Check Service Window appears and displays the message Checking HTTP Server Status and it counts the time. Nothing happens....
In the Eventlog, i got three Entries every minute:
Type: Information
Source: HP Systems Insight Manager
ID: 3
Description: Restart was successful
Type: Warning
Soucre: HP Systems Insight Manager
ID: 2
Description: Restarting MS Domain Manager
Type: Information
Source: HP Systems Insight Manager
ID: 3
Description: HP Insight Manager started
Are there any logs i can check to find out, what´s going wrong?
Does anyone have special informations about special rights the account for SIM needs?
I mean except the simple description "local administration rights"
