Notification task equivalent in SIM 4.2 sp2
In brief:
Server status is updated in the main ALL SERVERS Window.
Correctly reports that things have failed or events occured
No emails being sent out and automatic event handling jobs not being run.
We have a task that has every event category selected using the ANY sub-category, ,about to try every event category using selected sub-categories such as PhyDrvThresPass V5(3030)
In CIM 7 sp2.3 you could set a task to run "When new devices or events meet the query criteria"
What is the new SIM equivalent?

Re: Notification task equivalent in SIM 4.2 sp2
The easiest way to set up for initial testing are to set up two e-mail Event Tasks.
One for where Severity is Major, the other for Severity is critical.
From a remote Server, check SNMP has been configured to send Traps to the HPSIM Server and then use the HP Management Agents GUI to send a test trap.
A Major Event should be generated. You should be able to follow the process and then refine it from there.

Re: Notification task equivalent in SIM 4.2 sp2
Thanks Rob, Discovered another piece of software was killing the SNMP service after 5mins so it was stopping SIM working fully.
