Orphans ?

Newish to Insight Mgr 7 and getting ORPHAN_XXXX in the Device Name field... What are these and how do I get rid/fix them ?

This is taken directly from the help file. This happens when you use disk imaging to deploy servers. It can also happen when you change IP addresses on servers.

In Microsoft Windows NT:

The HP Management Agents create the Globally Unique Identifier information in an entry in the Microsoft Windows NT registry. To remove permanence of the Globally Unique Identifier, remove the entry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Compaq Insight Agent\hostGUID

Once the entry is removed, restart the HP Management Agents services and a new Globally Unique Identifier will automatically be generated.
