PA-RISC hardware error reporting
Hi all:
Working with HPSIM 5.0 on HPUX 11.11 CMS.
The cooling fan went out on system (HPUX 11.00 A500-7X) and the OVERTEMP_CRIT threshold was exceeded and the system halted.
How could I have received alerts for this condition?

Re: PA-RISC hardware error reporting
if it triggers an EMS Event you can Configure EMS to send SNMP Traps to SIM

Re: PA-RISC hardware error reporting
Hi Rick,
For the OVERTEMP_CRIT threshold I don't think you get any warning, envd shuts the system down straight away.
I'm not sure if HPSIM will give any warnings. If you have OnlineDiags installed, including the EMS HW Monitors, there should be a warning at a lower threshold from dm_chassis, I think. Was anything logged in /var/opt/resmon/log/event.log?
