PMP and Linux license deployment

Hi,

I have installed, configured and discovered agents on 5 Linux systems (AS Rel 3 and AS Rel4). Within SIM everything seems to be fine, but when I try and deploy PMP license keys to any of the systems it reads "Unsupported Configuration".

Example:
hpasm: 7.5.1-8.rhel4
Product: ProLiant BL20p G3
Operating System: Linux - Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS

The serial number and all data is displayed when I log onto the systems management homepage, but within SIM it is not. SNMP is however working because all the changes made to syslocation and syscontact is displayed.

ANY ideas?

Re: PMP and Linux license deployment

Hello Wilhelm,

The SIM pligins atm work only on MS Windows and not on Linux.
The best bet is to deploy the plug-ins on a Windows based CMS and then manage the linux boxes.

Hmm .. think I might have given you the wrong idea. SIM is currently installed on a Windows 2003 server. The problem occurs when I try and manage the Linux servers from this SIM installation

Re: PMP and Linux license deployment

Try these options, hope one of them work.

1.Rediscover the managed node and deploy PMP key.
2.Do a h/w & s/w status polling before deploying PMP key.

3.The serial number and all data is displayed when I log onto the systems management homepage, but within SIM it is not.

If this is the case,SNMP is not configured correctly.
Verify the community dtring on CMS and managed node(in this case linux box) is same.
Check the snmpd.conf file.
