Power supply - general failure

Hi!

We`re using HP Insight Manager. One of the servers are reporting a minor warning on a power supply:

Bay 1
Present: Present Status: No Error
Redundancy State: Not Redundant Hot Pluggable: Hot Plug

Bay 2
Present: Present Status: General Failure
Redundancy State: Not Redundant Hot Pluggable: Hot Plug

This server is a DL380 G4. We tried to insert a power supply from another DL380 G4, but the error is still there after we do a hardware status polling. The strange thing is that we got no alerts stating that the power supply is not present while it`s taken out. When we see at the power supply status bay 2 is "Present".

Are there any point in ordering a new power supply when it didn`t work with a power supply from another server?

The LED`s are on both power supply`s.

Re: Power supply - general failure

Has anyone found a solution to this as I'm also experiencing same with our server.. But across all 3 power supplies, but none are actually failed.

All power leds on PS are ok.

Yes, it`s the powerconverter.

Re: Power supply - general failure

Ok.. Thanks.. Was hoping that it wouldn't be a hardware fault. These servers are out of warranty... :(

Have anyone has the solution, even I face this issue in most of the servers including DL380 and DL585.

Re: Power supply - general failure

I'm have the exact same problem with DL360G4. Is the power converter problem applicable to this model as well?

I removed both power supplies (not at the same time) and verified the same model number and spare part numbers, but despite changing out with fresh spares, the error does not clear. The server continues to run despite running on the "bad" PSU.

If the power converter is the culprit, does anyone have the model or spare part number for this? Thanks in advance!
