Problem with Brocade SMI
I'm trying to use the Brocade's SMI-S with SIM 05.01.00.02 .
I Installed the brocade SMI agent on the SIM server .
Then I tried an "identify system"
but got the following message
" This system does not have any SMI-S CIMOM installed
This system has a server CIMOM installed "
I tested the SMI port with the command
wbemdisco host 5988 interop user password
and got the following output
D:\HPSIM\Systems Insight Manager>echo off
WbemDisco 01.00.01

Re: Problem with Brocade SMI
Stefano,
from the looks of your results, your SIM server is not the device that is attached to the Brocade device. I think this software needs to be installed onto one server that has a fiber adapter that is connected to your Brocade switch.
hope this helps,
Neal

Re: Problem with Brocade SMI
Hi ,
it's not the way it works. The SMI agent for brocade connects to the switch vie network ( telnet/ssh) not by FC

Re: Problem with Brocade SMI
Sorry about that. I did find a short white paper that I think is describing the scenario you are looking for. Look over http://h20331.www2.hp.com/ERC/downloads/4AA1-2845ENW.pdf if you have not already done so.
