problems clearing IML

I have several systems that when I try to clear the IML as root from within the system agents nothing changes. Is there a way to clear the IML without the agents?

Any other ideas?

RedHat Linux with the 7.3 agents

I'm not familiar with Linux Agents, but check that snmp has a write access community.
It may be that the Server will need snmp write access to itself!
