Problems installing Insight Control Management - Data Center Edition
I am having some issued installing the Insight Control Managerment Data Center Edition on my server. The server is already running HP SIM 5.0.
The error message I am getting is as follows.
"There is a problem with the IIS configuration ("DefaultAppPool" is not accessible). Please check the "DefaultAppPool" configuration and credentials in IIS Manager and refer to Microsofts IIS documentation for further information"
I have checked and re-checked the DefaultAppPool configiration. I changed the Identity of the DefaultAppPool to run as both the LocalSystem account and a Domain Admin account with the same error.
I even took the big hammer to it by reloading IIS on the server and I'm still getting the error. So far, I've had to begin installing each product individually beginning with HP SIM 5.1.1.
What am I doing wrong here, or what am I missing? I have passed all of the installation pre-requsites.
Thanks.

Re: Problems installing Insight Control Management - Data Center Edition
1. Try to access http://localhost/ (this is what ICM checking does). If no error, then ICM installer check should pass.
2. If an error is displayed, then there are 2 possibilities:
a. Verify if DNS is working properly, and if the name "localhost" is resolved.
b. Reinstall IIS. In some systems, it is not enough to restart the service, because when DefaultAppPool is accessed, an exception happens and the service stops.
Probably this should solve the error.
