reinstall SIM and import database work ok?

I have been trying to upgrade to IC2.35 but it fails with errors. I have also tried 2.30 but both say my Management Service is to old. It's currently at 1.0.2 and says it must be at least 1.10 (although the docs say it will upgrade the service from version 1.0. I have tried the IC1.1 and IC2.0 DVD but it fails saying SIM already newer and by passes the install. So I am stuck between with no path. I was thinking about exporting the database and installing IC2.35 from scratch and then importing the database. I found these commands

To export the nodes
mxnode -lf > nodes.xml
To import the nodes
mxnode -a -f nodes.xml

Anyone see any issues with this? The other reason I would like to do this is to use a different SQL server for the databases.

Any issues with the trusted cert I currently have on all my enclosures? If so, can I import my cert from the 'old' SIM server?

Short of this, is there anyway to just install the 1.0.2 or 2.0 Management Service so then the IC will install?
