Remote Server BIOS update

I searched this forum/google and found conflicting info. Can someone tell me if HP SIM can remotely update the BIOS on Servers?

Best Regards,

Dave

Re: Remote Server BIOS update

ProLiant 300/500/700 series servers have redundant ROMs to eliminate the chance of not being able to boot after a failed firmware update. HP SIM can deploy firmware resident in a Version Control Repository to systems running the Version Control Agent. Find the function under Deploy --> Deploy Software or Firmware.

Re: Remote Server BIOS update

Yes, you just download the online Firmware updates into your repository structure.

From there the VCA for the Server should list the firmware version on the Server and the latest version in the Repository.

I've updated numerous server and array ROMs from HPSIM.

Rob, thanks for the info.
I wonder why this procedure is not documented?
