Repository and deploy agent

I have the repository configured for 7.70, 7.91, and 7.5 for our different operations systems. Now I am wondering about the deploy agent that is on the CMS server. Does this deploy to all types of devices including workstations or just to servers? If it deploys to stations where does it pull this information from? I am also installing intelligent manageability client on all the compaq desktops and I am wondering about an automatic rollout. Can this occur using insight manager agent deployment?
