Repository

I am new to Hp Management. Can anyone tell me how to populate the repository so I can blow out the support pack to my servers?

Thanks

Re: Repository

On your management server go to https://:2381 from there click the Version Control Repository Manager. In new window click the "catalog" tab, then on right side of screen click "update from hp.com now"

Re: Repository

You can also set it up to download and keep itself up to date. I have mine set to downlownd every Sunday at 3am.

Re: Repository

I am replying from another account. Thanks for the help it did work, however, when I try to send the initial support pack out. I enter my login information, it copies over the pack, I then get an authentication error.

I installed version control agent on the server (not the sim server), entered the login information I use for Sim. How do I figure out this login stuff. I have login issues when I try to get to a servers web page as well.

Confused

Re: Repository

You need to setup trusts between the servers. In order to facilitate security, certificates are the best way to accomplish this.

On each server Open the web browser and point to https://servername:2381 use the password when the server was created with the smart start cd to authenticate.

FOr 7.1 Insight Agents and earlier, Go to the Settings Tab, Under HTTP Server click on Options.

The Following is what I found works well for settings.

Select Local Access, leave Anonymous Access empty. Click administrator.

Under Trust Mode, select Trust by Certificate, or Select Trust by all if you are going to replicate the agent settings from another server.

If you do Trust by certificate you need to copy the certificate into the Certificate list where it says Insight Manager 7 Certificate Data. This is a cut and past from the certificate that you create from the HP System Insight manager server.

For 7.2 Agents the information is in slightly different locations

Make sure SNMP community names are setup and that the server has access. I would change your keys from public and private. I lock my communictation on snmp to the server, but you also need to add localhost and 127.0.0.1 as well.
