Server install dates
Does anyone know if any of the Insight Management agents, reports or other functionality can provide the date of when a server was actually installed or built? We are hoping to use Insight Manager as a tool to assist us in logging server life and warranty type information.

Re: Server install dates
Not that I'm aware of. There's a Discovery event that HPSIM records when it discovers the server, but if that server is deleted and rediscovered then that event will also change.
But anything at the OS level can be removed if the server is re-provisioned.
The only item I've ever populated in the BIOS on Proliant servers is the Asset Tag and that is picked up by HPSIM. Possibly this could be a date string, I'm not sure of the allowed format or string length.
