Re: Server Status Changed Event
Do you get informational traps?
If you go to Control Panel, select the HP Management Agent tool, select SNMP Settings tab, click Send Test Trap; do you get the trap message? If NO - then your SNMP service does not have a trap destination.

Re: Server Status Changed Event
The trap destination info shouldn't have any effect on the status change event, I did set up the trap destination and the test trap goes through. We are getting the failure events, but still no status change events.

Re: Server Status Changed Event
When I remove my trap destination from SNMP and pull a drive SIM shows no event changes. When I place a trap destination in the SNMP and pull a drive I get a notification in SIM.

Re: Server Status Changed Event
With IM7 when HW status changed on a system the IM server would generate a Device Status Changed event without needing a trap sent from the managed system. We preferred just having this event created, so we would only get the one event for an issue instead of the multiple events sent from the managed system. Now I thought SIM was doing this too when I first installed, but I've screwed around with it so much testing maybe I turned it off somewhere. I'm not to worried about it now. But if it still doesn't work after I install 4.1 then I'll have to worry :-)

Re: Server Status Changed Event
Instead you get the System is UnReachable and System is Reachable Events in the case of a Server reboot.
