Setting up SIM agent in RHES3

We have an existing SIM network set up for Windows servers (CMS is Windows), and I need to add a few Linux servers to the system. SNMP and SSH are installed and running on the Linux boxes. What steps do I need to take to set these RHES3 servers up for monitoring? As far as I can tell all I need to do is edit snmpd.conf and add these lines:

trapsink
rocommunity

Is that all?!? It can't be that easy. What am I missing? Thanks!

Is this a ProLiant? If so, you should use the ProLiant Support Pack for Linux. See http://www.hp.com/servers/swdrivers for the download.

Yes, they are Proliant DL360s. I have downloaded the Support Pack and will install it. David, what other steps do I need to take to get this up and running? Thanks in advance for holding my hand on this one.

During the install it will guide you through all of the prompts for setup if you are using text mode, or in the case of the GUI version, select the configurable component(identified by an icon) and fill in the fields. More info can be gotten from http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/linux/documentation.html --> "Managing ProLiant Servers with Linux" which is a HOWTO; specific installation instructions begin on page 18.

After looking at the Support Pack, I am weary of installing it, as these servers are production servers and are dedicated to a specific task. I cannot have errant processes running on these boxes and taking up any unnecessary resources. I'm not trying to be lazy here, but can you please just give me the specific minimum requirements that I will need to make these boxes SIM aware? Your help is greatly appreciated.

I have installed the entire ProLiant Support Pack for Linux and configured it on one of our servers, and it seems to be working great. (Thanks David!) I plan it install it on all of my boxes. But first...

Now it seems that I need to install additional RPMs to have the features under the "Performance" tab in the navigation frame to monitor things like system processes, memory usage, etc. (these are available here on our monitored Windows servers). I have tried to find the correct package, but am unsure of which one to download and install. Can someone tell me which RPM is the right one to go with? Thanks.

p.s. A guess... Is it the "HP Storage Agents for Linux"(cmastor-7.1.0-12.linux.i386.rpm) or the "HP System Health Application and Insight Management Agents for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3"(hpasm-7.1.1b-95.rhel3.i386.rpm) RPM? Both?
