SIM 5.2 SP1 freezing

I just upgraded to the lastest 5.2 code from 5.1 sp1 on Windows 2003. The upgrade went fine. Now SIM freezes after running for a while. There are no events in the app or system logs. A service restart always fixes it, but only for a short time. In the mxdomainmgr logs, there are a lot of repeating messages:

HW Polling null object was null

NOTICE! DB Pool ran out, adding temp extension

A thread has run longer than desired, it is being moved out of the pool Construction Cache for HardwareStatusPolling:288 Max run time is 180

How can I tell what exactly is broken with these messages? I have a lot of tasks that could be running at any given time, but this seems to point to the hardware polling tasks. I still have another SIM server running that is mirrored for redundancy in my environment. It has not been upgraded yet and is still working properly. Both monitor 1700+ objects with a local install of SQL 2000 SP4 DB. Thank you.
