SIM Agents Traps
Hi I have a general SIM question regarding SNMP traps coming from SIM agents. It seems my SIM console is getting alerts from some agents that my console is not forwarding via email as I have setup. I get a trap codes for code "3046" for a status change on a hard drive for example but I will not get the email alert. So I checked my task rule definitions and do not see this trap code as one that I can select to be notified on. So I was wondering why my console would not have this code listed, could it be related to the SIM console version 5.3 vs my agent versions,I did upgrade with the 6.2 version of the MIB pack. we have many different versions since we are a large enterprise. Does anyone know if trap codes change for different agent versions?

Re: SIM Agents Traps
If you see the trap in the SIM event list you should also be able to find the definition.
Check the event details for the related MIB file. Go to the trap definition and select the mib file and you can see in the listbox below the mib file selection the list of all the traps defined in your loaded CFG file.
I would first verify the event automation task and his selections. Did you define the filter by an XML file or in the GUI? Perhaps a query was removed during the upgrade procedure or one of your manually applied query for your rule is missing now.
Hope this helps

Re: SIM Agents Traps
Hi Thanks for your reply..
I defined the event filter via the GUI. In my task I see all the events I selected from each catagory I don't see the the trap ID for the 3046 as listed for example or for trap ID 6056 which for memory related events when I go into my task definition and try to select this event it's not listed under any of the catagories of events.
